Sonnet: Writer’s Block

It’s a sad thing to have the writer’s block,
For it’s a dam constructed in my mind,
The vault of imagining won’t unlock,
For the lock is stubborn and won’t be kind.

There are many ideas trapped inside,
That have a desire to be expressed,
Ready to take them on a wild ride,
But all of these pieces are now suppressed.

I think I require a muse to see,
So I can attain some inspiration,
In order for my thoughts to be set free,
And spread across this wide, boundless nation.

But even if my brain attained a muse,
Would the vault of ideas still refuse?
