“O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?” These famous lines, written in 1595, are still being performed today. And not only performed, but taught. Today the ninth graders at Pasco High are learning about this famous play. How Shakespeare created tension, foreshadowed, and entranced his readers with his eloquent writing. Even if it wasn’t his original work, I believe it is still a work that needs to be recognized and revered today. Four hundred twenty-one years, this play has been around, and it’s still relevant today. And that deserves recognition.
