You don’t wish to entangle with me,
Feel my knives bore into your heart,
Cutting deep and leaving scars.
You don’t desire my cold embrace,
My fiery touch, my burning gaze.
My absolute tortuous pain.
I am a creature with dead eyes,
And a burning, passionate soul.
A beast with no heart but the power
To burn all others.
But for those that do not burn, I am
A loving mother, a devoted partner,
The warm rest at the end of the long journey.
I can be the darkest hour or the brightest day,
The coldest ice or blazing fire,
Happiness. Or pain.
I am the monster called Love. Lay by my side, if you dare.
