I saw her there, standing.
In the garden midday, she enjoyed the sun.
A sandwich in her hand, and flowers in her sights.
She was in no rush, she had no plans,
Except to stand and enjoy.
I watched her, from my window.
Behind my laptop, I smiled.
I enjoyed her enjoyment.
The soft smile on her face;
The wind rustling her thinning hair.
I envied her. She made time to enjoy.
The sun and the flowers belonged to her.
I wondered how she had gotten there.
What she had done in her life.
The sun rose higher, and I wondered what I had to do.
